Terms of Use
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These terms cover your use of SpendWise (the "app"), a personal spending tracker distributed on the Apple App Store by Solo Operator Stack. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What SpendWise is
SpendWise is a private, on-device tool that helps you record and review your personal spending. It is not a bank, a broker, a financial adviser, a tax preparer, an accountant, or a regulated financial product. The categorization, budgets, and insights the app produces are heuristic aids for personal use only, not professional financial advice. Decisions about your money are yours; SpendWise is a tool for organizing information you already have.
Your data is yours
Every transaction, budget, and preference you create in SpendWise is stored on your device. Solo Operator Stack does not run a server for SpendWise, does not receive or store your data, and cannot recover it if you delete the app or lose your device. Please use iOS's built-in backup features (iCloud Backup or encrypted local backup to a Mac/PC) if that matters to you.
Free features and Pro subscription
SpendWise ships with a free tier and an optional auto-renewing subscription called SpendWise Pro. Pro unlocks unlimited budgets, unlimited receipt scanning, and bank file imports.
- Annual: $29.99/year, with a 3-day free trial.
- Weekly: $2.99/week, with a 3-day free trial.
- Free trials are available once per Apple ID. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the plan you chose begins and your Apple ID is charged.
- Prices in USD; your local currency and current price are shown in the App Store before you subscribe.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Payments are charged to your Apple ID. Cancel or manage anywhere: iPhone Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the app: don't attempt to reverse-engineer it beyond what's permitted by law, don't decompile the binary to remove license checks, and don't use the app to violate anyone else's rights. You also agree that you are responsible for any files you feed into SpendWise (bank exports, receipts, etc.); if they include someone else's data, you're responsible for having permission to process them.
No warranty
SpendWise is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Categorization heuristics, receipt parsing, and CSV auto-detection are best-effort and will sometimes be wrong; please review imported data before relying on it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Solo Operator Stack shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the app, including but not limited to financial decisions you make based on information the app displays. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it and, for Pro subscribers, to request a refund through Apple.
Third-party services
SpendWise uses Apple's operating-system frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, Vision for OCR, StoreKit for subscriptions, WidgetKit for widgets). Your interaction with those frameworks is governed by Apple's own terms in addition to these.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
