Walk
Four beats
Each hoof lands on its own. The warm-up, the cool-down and the long way home.
Equee records your ride and works out, as you go, when your horse is walking, trotting, cantering or galloping, and every time you jump. Each ride lands in a logbook for the horse you rode.
Equee reads the rhythm of the ride from your phone's motion sensors and checks it against your GPS speed, many times a second, while the phone stays in your pocket.
Four beats
Each hoof lands on its own. The warm-up, the cool-down and the long way home.
Two beats
Diagonal pairs of legs move together, in the bouncy rhythm you post to.
Three beats and a lift
Three footfalls, then a moment when all four hooves leave the ground.
Four beats, full stretch
The fastest gait. Equee separates it from a big canter by rhythm and speed.
Jumps are counted from the lift off and the landing. Every horse moves differently, so Equee learns each horse's stride over its first rides and keeps that per horse.
Most fitness apps treat a ride like a slow jog. Equee is built around the horse: its gaits, its jumps, and its own record of every ride.
Start a ride and put the phone away. Equee shows the current gait, how the ride splits between walk, trot and canter, and the numbers that matter.
Add your horses once and every ride is filed under the one you rode. See their week at a glance: rides, saddle time and how the gaits added up.
Open any ride to see where you went and how you rode it: the route on the map, the gait breakdown, and the detail behind it.
Your history keeps every ride with its gait ribbon and jump count, so a month of schooling or a season of hacking is easy to read back.
Records the ride from your pocket, gaits and jumps included.
Ride metrics on your wrist, and heart rate for your rides.
Time and gait on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
Your streak and week on the Home Screen, a tap from riding.
Rides count as equestrian workouts in your activity.
Equee has no account and no server of mine behind it. Your rides, your horses and the route to your yard live on your phone, and I can't see any of it.

Close to your body. A breeches thigh pocket gives the clearest signal; an upper arm band or a belt clip at your hip also work well. A loose jacket pocket or a saddle bag makes gaits harder to read.
It's worked out from the rhythm of the movement and your GPS speed, entirely on the phone, and it improves over the first few rides as Equee learns each horse's stride. When the rhythm is unclear, for example during a transition, Equee says so rather than guessing. Treat the figures as good estimates, not measurements.
So a ride keeps recording when your phone is locked in your pocket. Equee only uses your location while a ride is running. You can choose "While Using the App" instead, but the route may have gaps when the screen is off.
No. Equee works with just your iPhone. An Apple Watch adds ride metrics on your wrist and heart rate for your rides, which the heart rate zones in Pro are built on.
Only if you turn on iCloud sync in Settings. It's off by default and uses your own private iCloud account. Health data is never synced to iCloud; Apple Health keeps its own copy of your workouts.
English, German, Spanish, French and Polish, in metric or imperial units, with horse heights in hands or centimetres.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: on your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Equee. To restore Pro on a new phone, open the Pro screen and tap Restore Purchases with the same Apple ID. A lifetime purchase never renews. More answers on the support page.
Equee is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone and Apple Watch. Free to download, no account needed.
